A struck-face token · Ethereum
Struck once.
Read by every trade.
Diecast lives on Ethereum, and it turns every trade's 2% fee into retired supply and pool depth — split by the one face struck into the contract at construction, and fixed for the life of the token.

The Face Bench
Choose a face. The same Trade Fee re-routes between the two destinations.
First readings
The facts, before the story.
| Name | Value | Setter |
|---|---|---|
| Supply | 400,000 DIEC — every unit tradable from day one | none |
| Trade Fee | 2% — on buys and on sells | none |
| Face Set | 5 faces — exactly one is struck, the rest are discarded | none |
| Split rule | the struck face read by every transfer | none |
| Market | Uniswap v4 prices in ETH, settled on Ethereum | a venue, not a setting |
| Issuance | never again retired DIEC is never reissued | none |
The Face Set
Five faces. One is struck.
The other four never existed.
At construction the deployer makes the Face Choice — one face from this fixed set of five. The struck face decides how every trade's 2% divides between retiring supply and deepening the Pool, and the contract reads it on every transfer for the rest of its life.
Full Retire
The whole fee retires supply. The Pool gets nothing from it.
trade → fee → retire
supply → only shrinks
Retire Lean
The fee leans to retiring supply. The remainder deepens the Pool.
trade → fee → retire first
the rest → the Pool
Centre Split
The middle of the set. The fee runs both ways from every trade.
trade → fee → retire + deepen
between → the two poles
Pool Lean
The fee leans to the Pool. The remainder retires supply.
trade → fee → deepen first
the rest → retired
Full Pool
The whole fee deepens the Pool. Supply is left untouched.
trade → fee → deepen
supply → never touched
The working of it
What every trade does.
STEP ONE
A trade pays the fee.
Each purchase and each sale pays the Trade Fee — 2% of the trade, no more and no less.
STEP TWO
The contract reads the face.
Each transfer reads the struck face and divides the fee the way that face commands.
STEP THREE
Two destinations, nothing else.
The retiring share removes DIEC forever. The deepening share stays in the market as Pool Depth.
What becomes possible
Rules you can hold against anyone.
- VerifyRead the struck face from the contract yourself, from block one — the rule of every trade is knowable before you trade.
- HoldHold DIEC knowing the fee, the split and the supply cannot be rewritten by anyone, including whoever deployed it.
- TradeTrade a market where the fee only ever feeds the two destinations the face names — never a wallet, never a team.
Careful questions
Asked and answered.
What does holding DIEC require?
Very little. DIEC is a standard token on Ethereum; any Ethereum-ready wallet can hold it, and holding costs nothing.
Who chooses the face?
The deployer, once, at construction. That single act is the Face Choice, and no one — the deployer included — can revisit it.
Can the face or the fee ever change?
No. Face, fee, split rule and supply are set at construction, and none of the four has a setter. There is no way to strike twice, and no authority that could restrike.
Can anyone freeze my wallet or halt trading?
No. Only your keys can shift your DIEC, the market has no pause switch, and retired supply never comes back.
Where does the Trade Fee go?
Only to the two destinations the struck face names: retiring supply and deepening the Pool. No wallet collects it.
How can I see which face was struck?
The struck face is a public reading on the contract from block one. The Readings page shows how to verify it on the explorer yourself.
